Let me introduce you to Nate, a real character who is not only wonderfully made but also being wonderfully REmade:
In August, Nate and his brother Nick were in a serious auto accident. The past six months have brought long hospital stays and intense rehab for Nate, but mom Becky says suffering has been matched step for step with blessing. Nate is now standing unassisted for longer and longer periods of time, and I have no doubt he'll reach his goal of walking in time for Spring Break.

I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made.
But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ,
who has so wondrously reached out for me.
Friends, don't get me wrong:
By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this,
but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward
-- to Jesus.
I'm off and running, and I'm not turning back.

If you've ever asked yourself, "How come every now and then
calm, cool, collected Laurie suddenly bursts out with silly faces and exaggerated impersonations?" -- well, here's your answer:
I was raised by Jane Shepherd, Thespian Extraordinaire.
I just got back from a visit to Hollywood, where Mom is working hard to make her mark on the cinematic world. She wanted to expand her portfolio and give casting directors an idea of her range of characters, so we had some fun taking these pics:

Sweet Little Old Lady
Mean Old Biddy
World-Weary Woman
Glamorous Gal
Beautiful Benefactress
Now don't you wish YOUR Mom could be a famous actress?! Remember this face -- oh, and this one too:
Driver of Miss Daisy
Thanks for always encouraging me to develop and share my gifts, you two. I love you!

Gosh. Now that I know that at least one person is stopping by regularly to see what I'm up to (hi Dana!), I guess I'd better check in myself a little more frequently!
Today I did my favorite kind of senior portrait session: capturing a quiet, delicate beauty as she relaxes and lets her light shine. Here's a peek into Michelle's session:
Won't the future patients of Nurse Michelle be blessed by her gentle spirit? I know I was!
